Test Flight Success Stories

Lorna Dunn - Greetings from the UK.

Just wanted to send you an email to say thank you for the test flight in Vegas this year. After Vegas, I gave it some thought and on April 2nd I shot my first Club round with my new Hoyt Vicxen! In 7 weeks, I now hold 5 club records, and on Sunday I shot a round 8 points short of our County record, more importantly I beat my husband! Since this picture was taken, I have changed a few things and I am really LOVING my new bow! Will see you in Vegas 2011!

Lois Petruzzo and her daughter Jessica

Shoot Like A Girl is accomplishing is more than archery. One client in particular was Lois Petruzzo. She came up to me, and said, “I have to give you a hug!” We introduced her to archery through our Test Flights at the 2009 NFAA World Archery Tournament. She had never tried archery before, but had taken her daughter to archery practice and archery tournaments. Well, after we introduced her to archery, she went home and bought her bow with confidence from her local archery retailer, and well (this gives me chills), she competed in the 2010 NFAA World Archery Tournament! We hung the target from her last day at the tournament where she shot very well! But more than archery, it is heartwarming to know that this mom and daughter duo have spent all this quality time together doing something they both enjoy and love.

SammieSpotlighting one success story from Shoot Like a Girl’s Test Flight in Vegas 2009, is Sammie.  She was in the process of upgrading her bow, but hadn’t had and opportunity to try the bow she thought she wanted, and surely was not able to try bows from seven different manufacturers.  She shot all of the product line, fell in love with her bow, went home and ordered it from her local dealer with confidence.  She competed with her new bow just five weeks later at the NFAA National Indoor Championship!   Way to go Sammie!

A success story from Louisville comes from McStamper.

MsStamperShe and her husband received starter bows at Christmas, she became hooked on archery and quickly realized she wanted to invest in her equipment.  She had seen Shoot Like A Girl online, and drove from Michigan to Kentucky just to attend the Shoot Like A Girl Test Flight.  Here the staff worked with her to quickly determine her eye dominance, and important aspect when investing in your first equipment, she’ll have some adjusting to do, as she is left eye dominate, but this will pay off big dividends as she progresses in her shooting.  She spent the better part of day at the Test Flight (with many breaks in between).  She was able to recognize what felt right, and what didn’t quite feel the same to her, until she ultimately chose her bow!  She has reported to have ordered her bow from her local archery dealer with complete confidence!  Even when she was faced with doubt that she was making the right decision, by good minded archers in her shop, she knew, because she tested multiple bows to make the choice that worked best for her!
